Apps that help me survive
/I recently shared some apps with a couple of people that help me live a more productive and happier life. I am so excited to share them with you! Below you will see that there isn’t anything too out of this world, but my hope is that by reminding you of these and sharing how I use them, you will find some ways to incorporate them into your life (or ones similar) to help you live your happiest life.
- MyFitnessPal: I use this app MULTIPLE times a day. It is a great way to keep track of what you eat and thus stay fit. I use it to make sure I get all of the protein, carbs, and good fats I need, as well as key vitamins and minerals. It’s also a great way to track sugar consumption, so you can make sure you don’t go over the 24 grams of added sugar that is recommended by the American Heart Association.
- Instacart: I LOVE this app. I have to be honest, I haven’t been to the supermarket in a couple of months given how busy I have been. And the best thing about this app? It has slashed our grocery bill in half. Since I am doing my “grocery” shopping at home, all I do is look in my refrigerator and order the things I need. I no longer duplicate products, buy too much of something, or make impulse buys at the supermarket. Yes there is a $3.99 delivery fee and a tip for your shopper, but given how much we are saving by not going to the supermarket on our own, it’s a no-brainer.
- Amazon (Prime): I was just on the phone chatting with my mom about some very random product I need. She started brainstorming where I could find it. I had one answer: Amazon. With Amazon Prime, delivery is free and it I’ll get it in just a few days (if not sooner). The days of randomly walking through aisles are done.
- Yoga Studio: I told you guys about this app in my recent post on easy ways to fit in exercising. I absolutely love it! My go to is the Advanced Strength 60 minute class, though I also like many of their other offerings and have made my own custom studio classes.
- Sephora: I am a beauty junkie. Always have been, and am pretty sure always will be. Sephora has an incredible loyalty program, as well as an awesome sampling program. Depending on your tier within their loyalty program, you can qualify for Free 2-Day shipping. About to run out of my facial cream? I order it on Monday and have it in just a couple of days…Just in time! Better yet, all of the free samples, gifts, and perks keep me in the “know” as to what’s the latest in the beauty industry.
- Audible: I recently shared with you all how my Audible app helps me go within. Time is the most important thing we have…You can’t get it back or replace it. So you should always seek to use your time wisely. Yet lets face it. There are things in life that are just a time suck. Being stuck in traffic, commuting in public transportation, sitting in a wait room. Now, I have the perfect remedy! Since I have a TON of books that I want to read (and trust me when I tell you there are a lot), I choose to listen to many as audiobooks. It’s pretty cool to go through books while doing something else :)
- Fitbit: I use my Fitbit on and off. Since being pregnant, it has solidly been slapped on my wrist. I am pretty committed to getting my 10k steps a day in as a way to supplement the exercise I am able to squeeze in. Aside from tracking how active I am, it tells me how well I’ve slept, which is super important for me right now. You can sync it to your MyFitnessPal account and it will keep track of what you eat as well.
- Ovia: This may not be the most popular pregnancy app out there, but I really like it. It gives me helpful tips each day, and I like how it presents information. I haven’t been reading every single pregnancy book under the sun, so this keeps me informed as I go week by week.
- Uber: As of right now, my husband and I are still sharing a car; Uber provides us great flexibility. I have no idea what I would do without it!
- Instagram: My go-to social media. I love seeing the inspiring work those that I follow are creating, and I love having a picture log of those things that I have been up. Check out my Instagram account by clicking here.
- Pinterest: I LOVE Pinterest. Anytime I need an inspiration break, I open up my Pinterest app. It inspires me and helps fuel my creativity. Check out my Pinterest boards by clicking here.
- NetFlix: There are some incredible shows on Netflix that I watch. The Mind of a Chef, Chef’s Table, Bible Secrets Revealed, among much more, are my favorites.
- Pandora: What I use to get my workout music at the gym.
- NYTimes: When I want to check in on what is going on in the world, I open up my NYTimes app. One small issue…I tend to go to the Food section most of the time (!).
I hope this helps you! I would love to hear from you, so please leave a comment below. If you enjoyed this post, share it with your friends and family!
Lots of love,
Judith
